I love to sew! A few years ago I started making my own clothes. When I start something I get very very involved with it. For a year I dedicated myself to learning everything about pattern making, clothing construction, stitching, threads, hemming, zippers and attachments. Phew! I love to sew! A few years ago, I started making my own clothes. When I start something, I get VERY involved with it. For a year I dedicated myself to learning everything about clothing construction: pattern making, stitching, threads, hemming, zippers, attachments, Phew! I also spend an arm (not an arm and leg just an arm) on my little hobby. Then 3 children happened.
I wanted hair bows for my youngest so I was determined I would sew them all. Then this little cute company called Wunderkin ran $5 sale for their bows and I grabbed 2 bows and they literally changed my life. I used those two bows on the baby all the time and I didn’t have to put any effort or hard work into making them. I felt a huge sense of relief and I felt happy. Soooo I put away the fabric I was going to use away (we’ll talk about my spending habits later).
The sense of relief was so huge I realized I needed to stop sewing for this season of my life. Buying the bows or simply not putting bows in my baby’s head was essential to keeping my sanity. When we talk about simplification, I tend to overlook the little things in our life that have no eternal consequences. Making the good, better, best choices are hard. Our lives are full of good things but it’s figuring out the best for us in every season. Seasons change and so we have to continuously be making adjustments. Besides the craftsmanship of the Wunderkin bows is superb. The bows and headbands are so beautiful.
PS. It should be noted that second youngest does not wear bows very often. I had trouble finding a picture with a bow in her hair. Love you N!
